Please Hold My Hand embodies a theme more urgent than ever: the role of women in a world out of balance. It explores how women navigate a reality not of their making. While they face gender inequality, transgressive behavior, and violence, their perseverance is something to be admired and taken seriously. In the Netherlands, a woman is killed every eight days; statistics that painfully demonstrate that safety for women cannot be taken for granted.

From this starting point, a dance-theatre performance unfolds as a visual poem about women who show us how connectedness and harmony keep the world moving, especially when fear tries to still it. Four dancers move like waves through a landscape of petals, carried by the rhythm of the seasons and each other.

Artistic director Jordy Dik shares: “I wanted to celebrate female power, but discovered how unsafe and unequal the world still is for women. Especially as a man, I couldn't ignore that. That's why I created a choreography with them that encompasses all of this: joy, loss, longing, and resistance, and the hope that together we can change this.”
