What We Hold bestaat uit een double bill van Wiegmans' internationaal geprezen solowerk HOME- 家 en haar nieuwste creatie The Forms That Remain, een duet met Nico Trung Chánh Leroy. 

Daarnaast is de fototentoonstelling A Proper Place van beeldend kunstenaar Lisa Hu te zien en staat ook de foyer in het teken van Chinese tradities en cultuur. 

HOME- 家

HOME- 家 is een combinatie van een autobiografische korte film en een danssolo, begeleid door livemuziek van componist Bongjin Jung. Wiegmans duikt met haar unieke bewegingstaal in de diverse emoties rondom haar adoptie. Ze deelt moedig de kwetsbare oorsprong van haar leven en nodigt je uit op een intieme, persoonlijke reis - naar het gevoel van “thuis”. 

A PROPER PLACE | LISA HU

Lisa Hu, een Chinese immigrant en fotograaf die al meer dan twintig jaar in Nederland woont, onderzoekt de spanning tussen integratie en culturele wortels. Haar expositie, A Proper Place, toont portretten en interviews met 25 Chinese vrouwen van uiteenlopende achtergronden. Het project deelt hun migratieverhalen, onderzoekt thema's als identiteit, het gevoel van ergens bij horen en bevraagt de stereotypische vooroordelen over Chinese immigranten in Europa. 

THE FORMS THAT REMAIN | PREMIÈRE

The Forms That Remain is een krachtig duet, geworteld in vechtkunstvormen als Shaolin, Tai Chi en Wing Chun. Versmolten met dans navigeren Wiegmans en Leroy met precisie de spanning tussen zichzelf en de ander. Met elke aanraking en uitwisseling, luisteren ze naar de verhalen die in hun lichamen verborgen zitten en spreken ze met hun bewegingen een taal van weerstand en harmonie.

HOME - 家 is a combination of an autobiographical short film and a dance solo, accompanied by live music from composer Bongjin Jung. With her unique movement language, Wiegmans delves into the complex emotions surrounding her adoption. She courageously shares the vulnerable origins of her life and invites you on an intimate, personal journey — in search of the feeling of “home.”

A PROPER PLACE | LISA HU 

Lisa Hu, a Chinese immigrant and photographer who has lived in the Netherlands for over twenty years, explores the tension between integration and cultural roots. Her exhibition, A Proper Place, presents portraits and interviews with 25 Chinese women from diverse backgrounds. The project shares their migration stories, explores themes such as identity and belonging, and challenges the stereotypical prejudices about Chinese immigrants in Europe.
